Xiaomi Redmi 6A receives permanent price cut, now becomes more affordable in India

Xiaomi Redmi 6A has been one of the most successful budget smartphones in India and while the Xiaomi Redmi 6A was recently launched in the country along with the Redmi 6 and Redmi 6 Pro, it has just received a permanent price cut which makes it an even more affordable offering in the segment. The biggest highlights of the Xiaomi Redmi 6A include an HD+ display, face unlock, Helio A22 12nm SoC and more.

The Xiaomi Redmi 6A price in India started from Rs. 6,599 for the 2GB RAM/16GB storage version while the 32GB storage variant used to retail at Rs. 7,499. Now, the smartphone has received a price cut worth Rs. 1000 which brings down the Xiaomi Redmi 6A price in India to Rs. 5,599 and Rs. 6,499, respectively for both the variants.

It should also be noted that the 2GB RAM/16GB storage and 2GB RAM/32GB storage versions of the Xiaomi Redmi 6A were launched at Rs. 5,999 and Rs. 6,999, respectively, before they received a price hike in India due to rising prices of US Dollar in the country.

The Xiaomi Redmi 6A sports a 5.45-inch HD+ (1440 × 720 pixels) display with 18:9 aspect ratio, 1000:1 Contrast ratio and 2.5D curved glass. It is powered by the 2GHz Quad-Core MediaTek Helio A22 SoC paired with IMG PowerVR GPU and further includes 2GB of RAM with 16GB / 32GB of internal storage, expandable up to 256GB via microSD. While the smartphone runs Android 8.1 (Oreo) with MIUI 9 on top, it is upgradable to MIUI 10. It also supports Dual SIM (nano + nano + microSD) connectivity.

For optics, there is a 13-megapixel rear camera with PDAF, f/2.2 aperture, LED Flash, EIS and a 5-megapixel front camera with f/2.2 aperture. Other features of the Xiaomi Redmi 6A include a 3.5mm audio jack, dual microphones, FM Radio, Face Unlock, Dual 4G VoLTE, Bluetooth 4.2, GPS + GLONASS, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n and a 3000mAh battery.
