Huawei CBG plans retail presence in tier-2 and 3 cities in 3 years

Indian telecom operators urge govt to clear the air on Huawei telecom gear

Industry body COAI has urged the government to clarify its stance on the use of Huawei equipment in telecom infrastructure, particularly for futuristic 5G networks, at the earliest to enable operators to take a long-term view in investment decisions. Reliance Jio's subscriber base touches 1.16 crore in Punjab

Reliance Jio Wednesday said its subscriber base has touched 1.16 crore in Punjab within two-and-a-half years of commencement of its operations. The company said it has become the market leader in Punjab with a subscriber base of 1.16 crore as of January 31, 2019. "Jio added 3.25 lakh customers in January and attained the highest customer market share (CMS) in Punjab, as per the latest telecom subscription data released by the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) for January 2019," a company statement said here.

Mukesh Ambani-driven Reliance Jio has tied up exclusively with Xiaomi for its Redmi Go devices. Xiaomi announces 7th manufacturing plant in India

On Tuesday, Chinese smartphone maker Xiaomi announced a new manufacturing plant in Tamil Nadu, making it the company''s seventh such plant in the country. Sterlite Tech Q3 net profit up 62% to Rs 146 crore

Optical fibre maker Sterlite Tech Thursday reported around 62 per cent jump in consolidated net profit to Rs 145.6 crore in the December 2018 quarter, on account of robust services solutions business. The company had registered a profit of Rs 90.09 crore in the corresponding quarter of 2017-18. Total income jumped around 60 per cent to Rs 1,345.3 crore, compared with Rs 841.91 crore a year ago. Oppo to set up Greenfield Electronic manufacturing cluster in Greater Noida; to jointly invest Rs 3500 cr

China-based handset maker Oppo is setting up a Greenfield Electronic Manufacturing Cluster (EMC) in Greater Noida to manufacture electronics and support accessories locally in India. The EMC project is being set up by TEGNA Electronics in partnership with Oppo and a few Indian companies. Vodafone introduces new annual plan, to offer 365GB data at Rs 1,499 for prepaid users

Leading telecom operator Vodafone has rolled out a new plan for its prepaid users. The company has introduced an yearly plan of Rs 1,499 which is valid for 365 days. This new plan from the service provider also include Vodafone Play subscription and unlimited national roaming facility. Under Rs 1,499, Vodafone offers unlimited national and local calling with 100 SMS per day. Along with this, users will also get 1GB data per day which means users will get the total data of 365GB. In case users will exhaust the 1GB data limit then users will be charged 50 paise per MB.

BSNL revamps broadband plans for daily benefits to its users

State-owned telecom operator BSNL has revamped its broadband plans. After the revision the plans offer increased daily benefits to its users. The entry-level plan of Rs 99 now offers 1.5GB data per day with the speed of 20MBps. The other plans revised by the service provider offers up to 20GB data per day. BSNL has also introduced a new combo plan - BBG Combo ULD 1495 for its new and existing broadband users. As the name reveals the new plan from BSNL comes with the monthly rental of Rs 1,495 and it offers 25GB data per day with the speed of 10Mbps.
