Telecom Commission to discuss Trai's spectrum allocation proposal on Aug 31

The Telecom Commission, apex decision making body at the telecom department, is likely to meet on August 31 to discuss Trai''s recommendation on spectrum allocation, according to official sources. Reduce the IUC: Use pure LRIC methods to calculate interconnection charges

The telecom regulatory authority of India or TRAI has started the exercise of reviewing interconnection usage charge (IUC). There is always a dispute between incumbent and new operators on interconnection charges. Incumbent operators want high IUC as they have been around for a longer time and, thus, have more number of subscribers, while new operators want low IUC.
