Huawei Honor 8X launched in three versions, to hit retail market by Oct-end

Chinese handset maker Huawei expects to start selling its India-made Honor 8X smartphones by the end of this month, a senior official said Tuesday. "As we unveil Honor 8X here, its production has already started at Chennai plant. The initial lot will have to be imported but the made in India Honor 8X will be available for sale by the end of this month," P Sanjeev, Vice President Sales, Huawei India-Consumer Business Group said.

Lenovo to raise mobile production capacity in India by up to 10 fold in 2019

PC and mobile maker Lenovo plans to ramp up its smartphone production capacity up to 1 million units per month in 2019, a top official of the company said Tuesday. "We make mobile phones in India at our partners factory. At present we have production capacity of 100,000 per month which we plan to increase in the range of 500,000 to 1 million units per month by the end of 2019," Lenovo Group Vice President Edward Chang told.

Panasonic launches Eluga Ray 530 with 5.7” HD+ screen in India at Rs 8999

Panasonic has added a new device Eluga Ray 530 to its Eluga portfolio. The device which has a 5.7” HD+ screen is priced at Rs 8999 and is available on various online marketplace platforms. Coolpad Note 8 with 5.99-inch display, 4,000mAh battery launched in India

Chinese handset maker Coolpad has launched the Coolpad Note 8 in the country. The smartphone comes with a dual camera setup at the back, a rear fingerprint sensor right below it, a 4,000mAh battery, Face Unlock, and a large 5.99-inch display with no notch. The Coolpad Note 8 packs 64GB of internal storage, and runs on Android 8.0 Oreo operating system. Coolpad Note 8 price in India is Rs. 9,999 for the sole 4GB RAM + 64GB storage variant.

Samsung unveils Galaxy A9 to tap into mid-premium smartphone market

South Korean electronics major Samsung Thursday unveiled its latest Galaxy A9 smartphone to strengthen its play in the global mid-premium phone market. The Galaxy A9, which is the world''s first device to feature quad-camera setup in a smartphone, is likely to be introduced in the Indian market in November. The pricing is also expected to be announced closer to the launch date.

Domestic smartphone maker Ziox Mobiles on Wednesday launched a new feature phone"Z18" with bluetooth and dedicated music keys for Rs 1,860 in India. OnePlus says not increasing prices of smartphones in India; to expand operations

OnePlus, the Chinese smartphone maker, will maintain the prices of its current lot of devices in the market, although new stock coming in after three months will cost more due to the rupee’s depreciation against the dollar. The company, which has the largest share of India’s premium smartphones, is expanding in the country, which is its second global base after China.

HMD Global unveils Nokia 5.1 Plus with AI capabilities, notched display at Rs 10,999

Chinese smartphone company Lenovo-Motorola on Monday launched its first Android One device "Motorola One Power" in India for Rs 15,999.
