Huawei and Khazanah in pact to set up Huawei Regional Data Hosting and Logistics Center in Malaysia

Huawei Technologies (Malaysia) has tied up with  Khazanah Nasional Berhad  to invest and set up a world-class infrastructure, to be known as "Huawei Regional Data Hosting and Logistics Center", and located in the fast-growing Nusajaya region of Iskandar Malaysia, with the support and facilitation by Khazanah.

This new center shall serve Huawei customers in the region, leveraging on the strategic location of Malaysia in Asia Pacific, superb infrastructure, excellent government support in terms of investment incentives and the close bilateral relationship between the Government of Malaysia and the Government of People’s Republic of China.

Huawei is a leading global information and communications technology (ICT) solutions provider and ranked on the Fortune Global 500 Companies. Khazanah is the strategic investment fund of the Government of Malaysia and is entrusted to hold and manage the commercial assets of the Government and to undertake strategic investments.

The Regional Data Hosting Center will be located in an office space of at least 10,000 square feet while the Regional Logistics Center will occupy a warehouse space of at least 80,000 square feet in Nusajaya, Iskandar Malaysia. The annual shipment volume is projected to be 1300 to 1500 containers at Tanjung Pelepas Port in Iskandar Malaysia, with a cargo value worth estimated at USD 300 Million. The proposed regional center is expected to result in the creation of 600 jobs in various managerial, technical and administrative positions in Iskandar Malaysia.

Huawei is also committed to the development of local human capital required, for the ICT and professional talents, to manage and operate the Center that uses latest ICT technologies intensively for the efficient operation, in collaboration with Khazanah and other government agencies.
