TT Correspondent | 14 Mar 2019

Reliance Jio disrupted the telecom market in 2016 with the launch of its 4G services. The competitive pricing and plenty of data offering made the users happy and created stiff competition in the market. Apart from introducing monthly plans, the telecom operator also launched a WiFi hotspot dongle -- JioFi. With the launch of JioFi the other telecom operators were forced to bring down the price of their dongles.

Now, in order to give tough competition to Reliance Jio rival telecom operator Airtel has updated its monthly plans for the hotspot dongle. After the revision, the monthly plans from Airtel now start at Rs 399.

Under Rs 399 plan, the service provider offer 50GB data per month. Once the user exhausts the limit them the internet speed will come down to 80Kbps. Apart from this, there also a plan of Rs 599 under which the Airtel users will get 100GB data at 4G speed. After the limit is over, the internet speed will come down to 80Kbps.

The telco is also giving a six-month advance rental option with its 4G hotspot. The benefit of taking up this offer is that you will get the Airtel 4G hotspot for free. Customers can purchase the six month plan by making the payment of Rs 2,400. Also by taking the plan, users save Rs 999 which is the price of the device. The same plan is also available for Rs 599 plan. In order to take up this plan, users have to make the payment of Rs 3,600.

Airtel users can take up the plans from Airtel and Amazon India websites. Airtel’s hotspot is being manufactured in partnership with Huawei and it is backed by a 1500mAh battery. The company claims that the device can deliver a battery backup of six hours on a single charge.
