Bharti Infratel appoints S Balasubramanian as chief financial officer

Bharti Infratel, a leading global telecommunications company has appointed S. Balasubramanian as their chief financial officer (CFO) after Pankaj Miglani resigned from his position.

The tower company in a regulatory filing said that Balasubramanian will take over the role of CFO from August 10.

Balasubramanian will take over reins at a time when Bharti Infratel and Indus Towers are getting the regulatory approvals for their merger. In April, the two tower firms announced their decision to create a $14.6 billion company which will be one of the largest mobile tower entities worldwide with 1.63 lakh towers

He joined Bharti Airtel in 2005 and before that, has worked in firms including Pepsi, Eicher, Sify, Hutch and Coke.

The chartered accountant and cost accountant was currently leading a cross-functional project team on integration of operations post the acquisition of Telenor.

Airtel has bought Telenor India in a no-cash deal and take over the latter's outstanding spectrum payments of Rs 1,650 crore.
