TT Correspondent | 11 Oct 2018

Chinese telecom and handset major Huawei has introduced its latest operating system EMUI 9.0 in India where the company said that its India R&D center played a key role in building the OS.

The upcoming EMUI 9.0 on Huawei devices will feature contributions from the Huawei India R&D team. The OS will soon roll out across various Huawei devices.

The latest OS comes with increased language support of 28 languages. Huawei said that the India R&D has also enabled deeper integration for the PayTM app in the upcoming operating system in India.

“The recently launched EMUI 9.0 has been developed from a commitment of creating an enjoyable, consistent and simple experience. The enhanced user experience and high-speed performance of EMUI 9.0 come together and enable an unmatched operating system for Huawei phones that is intuitive and simple,” said Brody Ji, Senior Product Director, Huawei Consumer Business Group.

“At Huawei, we see tremendous potential in the India market and are focused on fostering innovation here by bringing cutting-edge technologies to the country,” added Brody.

EMUI specific research is conducted at multiple research institutes across India, China, Europe and North America, Huawei said in a release.
